A widespread outage has affected Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger, suggesting a significant disruption at Meta, their parent company. Users encountered difficulties loading the apps or accessing the websites. Facebook users reported being unexpectedly logged out and unable to log back in, while Instagram experienced complete non-functionality. Meta, however, does not provide official status pages for its consumer products, and as of now, there have been no updates posted on the outage through its official accounts.

On Thursday, Down Detector, a website tracking service, highlighted extensive outages affecting Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. The issues were observed on a global scale, indicating a potential worldwide outage.

While Meta does maintain a status page for its business products, including advertising on Facebook and Instagram, it reported that all of its products were functioning as anticipated during the outage.

Notably, WhatsApp, another Meta-owned platform, seemed to be operating without any disruptions.
